PRIMARY PROGRAMME - TOURING FROM JANUARY 2016 - Rumpelstiltskin - The Straw Baby

An exciting new production from Big Brum for younger children....

Now it happened that he had to go and speak to the king, and in order to make himself appear important he said to him,
"I have a daughter who can spin straw into gold!"

The award-winning Big Brum Theatre in Education Company presents a new version of the classic fairytale. It has been designed for Years 2 - 4, but can be adapted for younger and older children. This is an exciting opportunity for your pupils to engage imaginatively with a classic text. Our Theatre in Education programme uses purposeful role play and storytelling to help develop children's speaking and listening.

Big Brum's new version of 'Rumpelstiltskin' has been written on the 25th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and asks deep questions about the value of a child's life.

The programme combines the performance of 'Rumpelstiltskin' with participatory workshops, taking your pupils on a journey that will liberate their imaginations. It will enable them to interact meaningfully within the drama, testing their own values in response to the unfolding story.

Pupils will benefit from opportunities to:
